Baked schnitzel

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 schnitzels (pork, turkey)
  • Clarified butter
  • salt and pepper
  • Mustard
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • marjoram
  • Parsley
  • 125 ml broth
  • 125 ml cream
  • 6 slice(s) cheese, Emmental

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with minced meat and cheese topping

Mix the minced meat with the eggs, breadcrumbs, garlic, and seasonings thoroughly. Pound the schnitzels and season with salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Heat a little clarified butter in a pan and quickly fry the schnitzels on both sides, then place them in a greased dish and spread with a little mustard. With wet hands, shape the minced meat into flat patties and place them on top of the schnitzels, smoothing them down. Place in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes. Then mix the stock and cream and pour over the schnitzels. Place a slice of cheese on each schnitzel. Turn off the oven and let the schnitzels rest in the oven for about 5 minutes. Serve with the juices; potatoes and any vegetables go well with them.
