Alloyed bread soup

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 rolls (or other white bread), stale
  • 70 g butter
  • ½ liter of water
  • 2 cubes of stock
  • Salt and pepper, nutmeg
  • 2 eggs
  • Chives, chopped
  • Parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Austrian variant of bread utilization

Cut the bread rolls into cubes and toast them in butter. Pour in water and season with stock cubes, salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Let the soup simmer for a while, then whisk in the bread and add two beaten eggs. Serve sprinkled with chives and parsley.
