Sweet potato and apple puree

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g sweet potatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 2 apples
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 40 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp pecans, coarsely chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, cut them into large chunks, and cook them in salted water for about 20 to 25 minutes. Drain and let them evaporate. Meanwhile, peel the apples, remove the cores, and finely chop the flesh. Heat the butter. Sauté the apple pieces until tender. Add the apples and butter to the sweet potatoes. Mash with a potato masher. Gradually add the heated milk. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and serve sprinkled with pecans.
