Mashed potatoes with a twist

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 400 g potatoes, new
  • 100 g corn, canned or frozen
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • some salt and pepper
  • some nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

KaPü with a twist: with corn and husk!

Wash the potatoes and cook them unpeeled (!) as usual for about 15 minutes. Shortly before the end of the cooking time, add the corn and cook briefly. Drain the potatoes and corn and return them to the pot. Add 1 tablespoon of butter, a little salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and mash roughly (best with a potato masher, but a fork will also work). Plate and serve. Don’t worry about the skin, it tastes really great! This amount is enough for 2 people as a side dish for 3-4 servings and for 2 as a main course. Caution: It shouldn’t become a runny mash; when mashing, less is more! If the mixture is too dry for you, add a splash of cream or milk. Variations: – Add some chopped garlic before mashing. – Quarter a carrot, chop it, and add it at the same time along with 50g of corn. Then add about 50g of peas (frozen or canned). Before mashing, add 2 spring onions, sliced into rings.
