Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 ball/s mozzarella (buffalo morzarella)
  • 8 slices of ham
  • salt and pepper
  • Herbs, Italian, dried
  • n. B. Olive oil, very good quality
  • e.g. balsamic vinegar
  • e.g. arugula

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

great starter, quick to prepare

Divide the mozzarella into 6 portions, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with herbs. Roll each piece of mozzarella into a slice of ham. Secure with a toothpick if desired. Fry in olive oil on both sides until the cheese is warmed through. Arrange a few arugula leaves on an appetizer plate. Drizzle with a mixture of oil and balsamic vinegar, sprinkle with some coarsely ground pepper, place the finished ham rolls on top, and serve immediately. Parma and Serrano ham are particularly suitable for this. When purchasing, just make sure the ham is thick enough so it won’t tear during rolling and frying.
