Grandma Liese’s leek vegetables for hearty dishes

Trim the leek, cut into half rings, and wash thoroughly. Drain well. Melt the clarified butter in a saucepan and fry the ham cubes vigorously. Add the leek, sauté, and let it brown slightly. Deglaze with the stock and simmer for 10 minutes with the pan uncovered. Dust with flour, stir through, and pour in the cream. Bring to a boil briefly. Season to taste with the spices and the granulated stock. This goes well with any kind of meat, but also with fish, for example, with boiled potatoes.
