Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g butter
  • ½ kg spelt flour
  • 125 g cane sugar
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of baking powder
  • 2 tbsp spice mix or gingerbread spice
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • 3 g cinnamon powder
  • nutmeg, to taste
  • 5 g clove powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 25 minutes

very tasty cookies – not too sweet, can be served with coffee all year round

Knead all ingredients into a shortcrust pastry and let it rest for a few hours. Then roll out the dough (not too thick) and cut out shapes (e.g., Christmas motifs). Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg yolk, and bake at approximately 160°C for approximately 15-20 minutes.
