Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 80 g sugar
  • 3 drops of bitter almond flavor
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 250 g flour
  • some currant jelly
  • some powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Makes approx. 60 pieces

Cream the butter with the sugar, scraped vanilla seeds, bitter almond oil, and egg yolks until fluffy, then knead in the flour. Cover the dough and chill for about 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Form the dough into cherry-sized balls. Then, using a wooden spoon, make a hollow in the center. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place a dollop of jelly into each hollow. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
