Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 300 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 300 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g margarine
  • 1 jar jam (strawberry or apricot jam or currant jelly)
  • n. B. chocolate glaze
  • n. B. Hazelnuts, ground
  • e.g. walnuts (halves)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 10 minutes

Sift flour and baking powder into a mixing bowl. Stir in the ground hazelnuts, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Make a well in the mixture and add the eggs. Spread the margarine in flakes around the edge, quickly knead everything together, and refrigerate. Roll out the dough to about 3 mm thick and cut out shapes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 200°C. After baking, let the cookies cool and spread half of them with warmed jam or jelly. Place an uncoated cookie (double-decker) on top of each coated cookie. Cover the edges and tops of these double-deckers with chocolate icing and sprinkle the edges with ground hazelnuts. If desired, place a walnut half on the top.
