Cocoa or drinking chocolate without sugar

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 ml milk of your choice
  • 3 dates (soft dates)
  • 2 tsp cocoa powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Sweetened with dates

Using a high-powered blender, blend the pitted dates with the cocoa powder and two tablespoons of milk until a fine paste forms. Add the remaining milk and blend. If desired, warm the cocoa powder in a small saucepan. You can refine the cocoa powder with a dash of vanilla, orange zest, a pinch of chili, half a teaspoon of almond or hazelnut butter, and/or a topping of heavy cream. If you enjoy cocoa powder every day, you can also make a syrup of sorts. I make the paste for several servings using only a third of the milk, pour it all into a bottle, and store it in the refrigerator. Made with fresh milk, the syrup can be stored for about 4 to 6 days. Simply top it up with hot or cold milk as needed. You can find more sugar-free recipes on my profile.
