Apple rings in beer batter

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 125 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 ml beer
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 4 apples
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • 1 cl brandy
  • 100 ml vegetable oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Combine flour, salt, and beer. Mix in the egg yolk and oil. Fold the vanilla sugar into the batter and let it rest for 30 minutes. Peel the apples, carefully core them, and slice them into rings. Drizzle with lemon juice and brandy. Heat the oil in a large pan. Dip the apple rings into the batter, drain well, and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
