Apple fritters with ice cream

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 125 g flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 egg whites
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 5 large apples
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • some salt
  • Fat
  • 4 scoops of ice cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Peel tender apples, cut into horizontal slices about 0.5 cm thick, core them, sprinkle with sugar, and drizzle with rum. Cover and let stand for 1 hour. Make a thick pancake batter from flour, 1 egg, salt, sugar, and milk, and mix in the stiff beaten egg whites. Dip the apple slices into the batter with a fork, drain slightly, and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Then place them on slices of bread and sprinkle with sugar. Serve with a scoop of ice cream.
