Thyme figs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g fig(s), dried
  • 200 ml red wine, sweet
  • ½ tbsp honey
  • 3 sprigs of thyme, fresh

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

as a side dish to ice cream or cream

Combine the figs and red wine in a small saucepan. The figs should just be covered. Add the honey and thyme and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour. Strain out the figs and thyme sprigs and continue to reduce the liquid until it reaches a syrupy consistency. Pour the liquid over the figs when serving.
