Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 500 ml milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 50 g sugar
  • 40 g flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 150 ml whipped cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Split the vanilla pod lengthwise. Scrape out the seeds and add them to the milk along with the pod. Heat the milk; do not boil, but keep it hot. Combine the egg yolks with 3/4 of the sugar in a saucepan and beat until frothy. Mix the flour and cornstarch and stir in vigorously. Pour in the hot milk, stirring constantly. Place the pan on the stove and bring the cream to a boil once, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Remove the vanilla pod. Whip the cream with the remaining sugar until stiff peaks and fold into the vanilla cream.
