Make your own mozzarella sticks

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g mozzarella in one piece
  • 2 eggs
  • 65 ml water
  • ¾ jar breadcrumbs
  • ¾ jar panko
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 1 liter of oil for frying
  • garlic powder
  • oregano
  • basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 minutes; Total time approx. 8 hours 17 minutes

makes about 20 pieces

First, cut the long mozzarella into about 20 sticks. Then, whisk the eggs with the water. In a separate bowl, mix together the regular breadcrumbs, panko breadcrumbs, and seasonings. Then, one by one, dip the mozzarella sticks in the egg mixture, then roll them in the breadcrumbs, then dip them again in the eggs and roll them again in the breadcrumbs. They should then be frozen for 8 hours, ideally leaving some space between the sticks. Heat the oil in a pan, and fry the mozzarella sticks until golden brown. This is very quick and only takes 1-2 minutes. As always, place them on kitchen paper to drain off any excess fat. These delicious mozzarella sticks are now ready to eat. For dips, I recommend my salsa or sour cream dip. You can find both recipes on my profile. Enjoy!
