  • 4 minute steak(s) of beef
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • some ginger
  • 3 tsp olive oil
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • ½ handful of sesame seeds
  • some broccoli florets or green asparagus spears
  • 2 handfuls of sugar snap peas or green beans
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the meat and cut into strips. Peel and finely grate the garlic and ginger, place in a bowl, and add the spices and mix everything together. Mix the beef strips with the garlic and ginger and let them simmer for a few hours. Roast the sesame seeds in a hot pan without oil. Pour hot water over the frozen vegetables to thaw. Mix the water with the hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Add a little oil to the pan, fry the vegetables and season with salt and pepper, then remove from the pan. Fry the meat, then add the sauce and the vegetables again and heat briefly. Place the vegetables and beef on a plate and sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds. Serve with rice. This simple but delicious recipe is for all gourmets who don’t just want meat on their plate, but also enjoy the bright green vegetables. The use of the Chinese five-spice mixture gives the recipe an oriental touch, which only adds to the flavor.
