Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 500 g potatoes, new, well scrubbed, (washed)
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt
- Caraway seeds
- optional spice(s) of your choice

best with this year’s (new) potatoes
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush with oil. (The more potatoes, the larger the coating area needs to be.) Sprinkle the desired amount of salt and caraway seeds (or other spices) onto the oiled surface. Clean the new-year potatoes thoroughly, cut them in half lengthwise, and place them cut-side down on this surface. (Cutting the potatoes lengthwise creates a larger surface area and reduces cooking time.) You can easily check when they’re done with a needle or fork. We like to eat these potatoes with grilled food. I like them with spreads (such as the herb yogurt with egg, the recipe of the day from May 23, 2008) or salads.
