Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 m.-sized tomatoes
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp oil (sesame oil)
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 onion(s), sliced ​​into rings
  • Salt
  • Thyme, dried
  • Oregano, dried
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Wash the tomatoes, cut into slightly thicker slices, and add them to a hot pan with the olive and sesame oil. Immediately season the top side with salt, sugar, oregano, and thyme. After about 1 minute, turn the tomatoes over and then season the other side. Turn again after another minute and the tomatoes are done. Carefully place the tomatoes on a platter and then briefly toss the sliced ​​garlic in the pan. Pour the garlic over the tomatoes along with the oil from the pan. Finally, add the onion rings to the tomatoes. It’s best to chill this antipasti in the refrigerator for about 1 hour before serving; that’s when it tastes best. Great as a side dish for a barbecue or for any type of Mediterranean meal.
