from dumpling dough

For these quick potato waffles, place the dumpling dough in a bowl. Mix in the egg and milk to form a smooth batter. The amount of milk depends on the consistency of the dumpling dough, but it should be 100–200 ml. It’s best to add it slowly and check the consistency frequently. It should be similar to a light and fluffy puree. Mix in the onion and dried meat, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Heat a waffle iron, grease with oil, and bake until crispy. We like to serve it with applesauce. A green salad is also delicious as a side dish. The recipe can be varied as desired, for example, with leeks, diced mushrooms, salami, boiled ham, etc. You can also serve the waffles as a side dish, for example, with goulash or roast with gravy; in this case, however, I omit the bacon.
