Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 200 g wheat flour or spelt (wholemeal flour)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 m.-sized apple
  • lemon juice
  • oil
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

wholesome and low in fat

Wash the apple, remove the core, and coarsely grate it with the peel. Toss with a little lemon juice to prevent it from browning. Combine the sour cream with the eggs and sugar. Combine the flour with the baking powder and cinnamon and add to the sour cream and egg mixture. Stir until smooth. Finally, fold in the grated apple. Preheat a waffle iron. Grease with oil if desired and bake the batter until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. This batter will make about 6 heart-shaped waffles. The waffles won’t be crispy, but will remain soft and moist! Of course, you can also bake the waffles with regular flour (405) and white sugar. In this case, please use 250g of flour!
