Oatmeal soup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 40 g butter, possibly more
  • 3 tbsp oat flakes
  • n. B. Spice mix (soup seasoning), instant or homemade
  • 500 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Grandma’s recipe

Melt the butter over medium heat. Then toast the oats in it until golden brown. It’s best if all the oats can absorb the butter. Simply add more butter if there are too many oats in the pot. Then top up with water, depending on how much soup you want. Season with soup seasoning. Let the whole thing simmer for a good 10-15 minutes, until the soup becomes nice and creamy. The quantities are purely approximate; some people like a lot of oats in their soup, others less.
