Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ kg pork schnitzel
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 onions
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 125 ml sweet cream
  • 125 ml broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Wash the meat, pat dry, and cut into thin strips (about 1/2 cm thick). Mix the flour with a little salt and pepper and toss the meat in it. Peel the onion and slice into rings. Remove the stems and seeds from the two bell peppers, wash them, and slice them into strips. Brown the meat vigorously on all sides in hot oil over medium heat. Add the onion rings and bell pepper strips and sauté. Sprinkle with paprika and stir briefly. Add the cream and soup stock, stir to combine, and simmer covered over low heat (about 20 minutes). Stir in the tomato paste and season with salt and pepper. Serve the strips with rice, pasta, or hash browns.
