Antonia's marinated peppers with mushrooms

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 bell peppers, red or mixed
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • ⅛ liter white wine, dry
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • 250 g mushrooms
  • ½ lemon(s), juice
  • some basil leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Wash and trim the bell peppers and cut into bite-sized pieces. Peel the onion and garlic, finely slice or dice, and sauté in the oil over medium heat until translucent. Add the bell pepper pieces and sauté for 5 minutes. Pour in the white wine and bring to a boil. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Clean and slice the mushrooms, drizzle with lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix with the bell pepper pieces before serving. Finely chop the basil and sprinkle over the bell peppers and mushrooms. Let it marinate overnight. Delicious with: toasted baguette with garlic butter.
