Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 500 g potato(s), waxy
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • Nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 125 ml milk
  • 125 g whipped cream
  • 5 tbsp Parmesan, grated
  • 400 g carrot(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Preheat the oven (conventional heat to approximately 200°C, fan-assisted heat to approximately 180°C). Boil the potatoes with their skins on for approximately 15 minutes, then let them cool. Peel and slice the garlic, then rub it into a baking dish. Peel and slice the potatoes and carrots. Layer the potato and carrot slices alternately in the baking dish, tiled. Season everything generously with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix the milk with the cream and pour over the potato slices. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the dish on the middle rack for approximately 45-55 minutes, until golden brown.
