Ingredients for 10 servings:
- 150 g margarine
- 180 g cheese (Emmental), grated
- ⅛ liter cream
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp paprika powder
- 250 g flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 egg yolk, mix with a little milk
- Almond(s) or
- poppy or
- Sesame or
- Caraway seeds
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes
Mix margarine with cheese. Add cream, salt, and paprika. Mix. Combine flour and baking powder and knead in. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Roll out to a 5 mm thickness, cut out shapes, place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, and brush with egg yolk. Sprinkle with sliced almonds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or caraway seeds. Bake at 180°C for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Keep an eye on the dough, as it will overbrown quickly.
