Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g flour
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 250 ml milk
  • 150 g butter
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 egg(s), including the yolk, for brushing
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl with a mixer (dough hook), mix thoroughly, cover, and let rise for 15 minutes. Knead again (if desired, you can add a handful of raisins at this point). Let rise for another 15 minutes. Remove from the bowl and knead with your hands. Then, form a plaited loaf or place in a loaf pan lined with baking paper. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 50°C, then for 25 minutes at 200-225°C, brushing occasionally with the egg and milk mixture. It tastes best warm.
