Cheese grinding

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 slices of puff pastry (frozen)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 50 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • some salt
  • some pepper, white
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

for snacking – at parties or in the evening

Thaw the puff pastry sheets. Beat the egg. Place one sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface and generously brush with egg. Sprinkle with cheese, salt, and pepper (Tip: If you like, you can use chili or paprika powder instead of or in addition to the pepper). Brush the second sheet of puff pastry with egg and place this side on the previous sheet. Brush the surface again with egg and sprinkle with cheese and the spices. Now brush the last sheet with egg and place this side on the other two sheets. Carefully roll everything out to a size of 10 cm x 20 cm. Cut into approximately 16 strips and twist into ribbons. Place the ribbons on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and lightly brush the surfaces (not the cut sides!) with egg. Let stand for about 15 minutes. Then bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
