in tomato sauce topped with mozzarella

For the sauce, peel and dice the onion. Then fry it in a little melted margarine. Add the tomato paste and fry briefly. Add the passata. Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves and add them to the sauce. Season with salt, pepper, Italian herbs and a pinch of sugar. Simmer for about 1/2 hour, then let it cool. For the meatballs, mix the minced meat with breadcrumbs, 1 egg, chili, salt, pepper and Italian herbs using the dough hook of a hand mixer until you have a meat dough. Form the mixture into small meatballs. Pour the tomato sauce into a round baking dish and place the meatballs in it. Slice the mozzarella and place it on top of the meatballs. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C (fan setting) for about 1/2 hour. Serve immediately. Baguette, rice or pasta go well with it.
