Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 750 g apples
  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 g raisins
  • 200 g walnuts
  • 2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp rum, optional
  • 2 packets of baking powder
  • 500 g wholemeal wheat flour or wholemeal spelt flour
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes

simple, juicy, quick

Quarter the apples, remove the cores, and grate the quarters. Mix the grated apples with the sugar, raisins, walnuts, cinnamon powder, and rum. Let this mixture sit for two hours or overnight. Add the baking powder and wholemeal wheat or spelt flour and mix everything again. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for 60 to 70 minutes. Tip: You should let the bread cool down at this point. But if you can’t resist, it tastes good warm too. And whether warm or cold—we think the apple bread tastes best with salted butter.
