Alberto's meatballs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g minced meat, half & half
  • 1 roll (Kaiser roll)
  • some milk
  • 1 tsp chicken broth or beef bouillon, instant
  • 2 tsp mustard, medium hot
  • 2 dashes of Tabasco
  • 2 tbsp Pesto Genovese (basil and pine nut pesto)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 vegetable onion(s), finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • Olive oil and sunflower oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Cut the rolls, including the crusts, into cubes and soak in a little milk. Sauté the onions and garlic and let cool. Squeeze the milk out of the rolls, then thoroughly mix all the ingredients and form meatballs of the desired size. Fry in a mixture of sunflower and olive oil. The 2 tablespoons of pesto give the meatballs a wonderful flavor.
