Alison's Yorkshire Pudding

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 ml flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 ml milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

The recipe is from my lovely English host mother. Makes 12 servings.

Weigh all ingredients. Place the flour in a sieve. Season with salt and pepper. Sift the flour and make a well. Crack the eggs into the well. Mix with a hand mixer. Slowly add the milk while mixing. The batter is now ready. Pour oil into each well of a muffin tin. Enough to cover the bottom. Place the muffin tin in the oven at 220°C for about five minutes. This will heat the oil. Remove the tin from the oven with the heated oil and fill each well with the batter. The wells can be filled to the brim. Then return the tin to the oven and bake the Yorkshire puddings for 20 minutes. As my host mother so sweetly said: “They must be puffy, large, and golden.”
