Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a baking dish. Peel the potatoes and slice them. Layer two slices of cheese on top of each other, quarter them, or cut the cheese into squares. Sauté the onions in a little fat until translucent. Now alternate the potato and cheese slices in the dish, tiling them together. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour the milk over them and scatter the onions on top. Bake in the hot oven for about 20-30 minutes. The onions should be golden brown, but not burnt. Serve with a salad or lactic acid vegetables.
