Potato and Apple Gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g potatoes
  • 2 apples, sour
  • 375 ml water
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 3 tbsp cream
  • 125g Camembert(s)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Peel the potatoes and cut into very thin slices. Peel the apples, quarter them, and also cut them into thin wedges. Layer both in a shallow baking dish. Melt the butter in a saucepan, make a roux with the flour, and add the cream and water. Season and pour over the potato and apple mixture. Cut the Camembert into small pieces, arrange on top, and bake for 45 minutes. Serve with a hearty bratwurst.
