Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g marzipan paste
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 3 drops of bitter almond flavor
  • Almond flakes
  • Dark chocolate coating

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 32 minutes

Warm the mixture slightly in the microwave or oven, as this makes it easier to work with. Knead it with the powdered sugar and flavoring, then fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag. The nozzle should have the largest opening possible. Squeeze out the mixture, about enough to fit on a tablespoon. Then form the croissants and roll them in the almond flakes. Bake at 180°C (top/bottom heat) on the second rack of the oven for about 12 to 15 minutes. Melt the chocolate coating and dip the finished croissants into the mixture using a tip.
