Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 liter of milk
- 120 g semolina (soft wheat)
- 40 g sugar
- 100 g almond(s), finely ground
- some saffron, finely ground
- 1 orange(s), finely grated peel
- 1 shot of Amaretto
- 1 vanilla pod(s), pulp (optional)
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Semolina porridge with almonds, orange zest and saffron
Bring the milk to a boil. Meanwhile, combine all the other ingredients, except the Amaretto. Stir everything into the boiling milk, add the dash of Amaretto, and continue cooking for about 2 minutes until the semolina has swelled. If children are eating, omit the Amaretto or replace it with a drop of bitter almond oil. Serve with some fruit. Orange stew or spiced oranges go well with this.
