Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g margarine
  • 250 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 30 g cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of clove(s), ground
  • 1 pinch of cardamom
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Water, warm

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Christmas cookies

Knead the dough ingredients with a food processor. Divide the dough into 6 pieces and shape each into a roll long enough to fit across the baking sheet. Place 3 rolls of dough on each baking sheet (lined with baking paper). Bake for 10-15 minutes at 180°C (fan oven). In the meantime, mix the icing ingredients with a fork. Immediately after baking, spread a thick layer of icing onto the rolls. While still warm, cut diagonally into 2cm-wide strips and allow to cool. Store in a tightly sealed container. The pastries taste even better after a few days.
