Alpine hut burger

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 350 g minced beef
  • 2 slices of processed cheese
  • 150 ml cocktail sauce
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, hot and sweet
  • chives
  • lettuce leaves
  • 2 slices of farmhouse bread

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with bread

Vigorously mix the ground beef with various spices, adding only a little salt. Form the meat into two patties and fry over high heat for about 4 minutes on each side until browned to your liking. I also add the bacon slices and fry them until crispy. When crispy, remove them and set them aside. Then place a slice of sliced cheese on each patty and let it melt with the lid on over very low heat (you can even turn the stove off). In the meantime, quarter the tomato, slice the onion into rings, and briefly toast the bread or briefly crisp it in the oven with high top heat. Now assemble the “burger”: Cut the bread in half. Place two halves on a plate, place the patty on one half, then add cocktail sauce (amount varies) and top with the tomato, onion rings, and a slice of bacon. For a more eye-catching look, garnish with a few lettuce leaves and sprinkle with chives. Cover with the second half of bread. I made my own cocktail sauce, but that’s up to you, of course.
