Alsatian-style pretzel flatbread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 pretzel(s), frozen
  • 2 tsp sour cream
  • 1 ½ tbsp diced ham
  • 1 tbsp onion(s), finely diced
  • 1 tbsp cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Defrost the pretzel (takes about half an hour, depending on room temperature) and roll out the dough on baking paper into a flatbread about 13-15 cm in diameter. Spread with sour cream, lightly salt and pepper, and sprinkle with the diced ham and onion. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius using top/bottom heat for 15-18 minutes. It also tastes delicious as a “pretzel pizza.” Instead of the sour cream, use tomato sauce or tomato paste and top the flatbread to taste. Be careful not to overcook it, or the dough won’t cook crispy in the middle.
