Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 5 eggs
  • Salt
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 150 g marzipan
  • 150 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 150 g flour
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 100 g Amarena cherries, drained
  • Grease for the glasses

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Finely chop the dark chocolate. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff. Then chop the marzipan mixture. Mix with the butter and sugar until creamy. Stir in the vanilla sugar, sugar, and egg yolks. Mix in the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and chocolate. Fold in the beaten egg whites. Finally, fold in the cherries. Divide the batter between the greased jars (half-fill) and bake in a preheated oven at approximately 175°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 35-45 minutes (depending on the oven – do the skewer test!). Immediately seal with a rubber band, lid, and clip. Will keep in a cool place for approximately 3 months.
