Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 450 g wheat flour, possibly more
- 250 ml buttermilk
- 15 g butter, melted
- 3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp salt
- possibly milk
- Fat for the mold
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
a totally delicious buttermilk bread.
Gently warm the buttermilk in the microwave. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and knead into an elastic dough, adding more flour or a few extra tablespoons of milk if necessary. Let it rise for about 30 minutes. Knead again briefly, transfer to a greased loaf pan, and let it rise for another 40-60 minutes, until it has almost doubled in size. While the dough rests, preheat the oven to 220°C. Place an ovenproof dish filled with water on the bottom of the oven and reduce the temperature to 190°C. Bake the bread for about 35-40 minutes. This bread also tastes delicious on toast!
