American waffles with maple syrup

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 275 ml buttermilk
  • 250 g flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • possibly oil for the waffle iron
  • Maple syrup for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

To make the waffles, whisk the eggs with the salt, oil, maple syrup, and buttermilk. Sift the flour and baking powder together, then stir into the egg mixture in portions. Heat the waffle iron and grease if necessary. Bake until golden brown and place on a wire rack. Serve the hot waffles with the maple syrup.
