Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g chicken (e.g. thigh), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 150 g honey
  • 150 ml lemon juice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • n. B. Pfeffer
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 3 large dates, pitted, halved
  • 4 dried apricots, quartered
  • 1 handful of raisins
  • 1 handful of sesame seeds, roasted
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Mix the honey, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and ginger powder thoroughly. Add the dates, apricots, and raisins. Add the sesame seeds and olive oil and toss the chicken into the marinade. Marinate for at least 1 hour—the longer the better. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Place the meat and marinade in an ovenproof dish and cook for about 1 hour. I like to eat this dish with flatbread.
