Anja's herb butter baguette from the BBA

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 ml water, lukewarm
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, or a little more
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tbsp, leveled salt
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • e.g. Herbs of Provence or
  • Garlic

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

(Dough preparation in the bread maker) – enough for 2 pieces

Fill the ingredients into the BBA in the order shown above. Program: Yeast dough. After the BBA has done most of the work, all you need to do is remove the dough, divide it in half, shape it into long rolls, and cut each half approximately halfway down the middle with a sharp knife, spaced about 1.5-2 cm apart. Spread a little butter into each slit (about a good pinch per slit) and sprinkle generously with Provencal herbs. Now preheat the oven (top/bottom heat: 220°C). While the oven is preheating, let the baguettes rise again in a warm place. Then bake for about 20 minutes. Variation: Instead of butter and Provencal herbs, you can also mix softened butter with freshly squeezed garlic and spread it on top to create delicious garlic butter baguettes. The baguettes taste great on their own, but are also great with salads or for grilling.
