Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

a very fine tried and tested recipe

Mix the ingredients for the dough and finally stir in the flour and baking powder. Filling: Cream the butter until fluffy and gradually add the other ingredients. Finally, fold in the rum-soaked raisins. Roll out the dough thinly and cut into squares (11 x 11 cm). Place a tablespoon of filling on each one and top with fruit, if desired. Fold the ends of the dough towards the middle and press down with a scrap piece of dough. Brush with egg and bake the golatschen in a preheated oven at 180°C for approx. 25 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with icing sugar while still lukewarm. Tip: I have found that the dough is easier to work with if you refrigerate it for 1/2 hour or leave it to cool.
