Annis Italian Beef Roulades

The perfect annis italian beef roulades recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 6 Beef roulades
  • 12 tsp Tomato pesto
  • 6 Discs Prosciutto crudo or Parma ham
  • 1 handful Teared basil leaves
  • 18 Parmesan shavings
  • 2 tbsp Plant cream
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 250 ml Dry red wine
  • 500 ml Coarsely sieved tomatoes
  • 250 ml Beef broth
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • Salt
  • Pepper from the grinder
  • Sugar
  1. Cut the onions into thin wedges. Peel the carrots and chop them very finely.
  2. Brush the roulades with 2 teaspoons of pesto each. Put a slice of ham on top. Spread the torn basil leaves and 3 Parmesan shavings on each. Roll it up, fold in the sides and pin in place.
  3. Heat the vegetable cream in a large saucepan. Fry the roulades all over. Take out, sauté onions and diced carrots in it. Add tomato paste and sauté briefly while stirring. Pour red wine on, let it boil down a little. Add coarsely pureed tomatoes, beef broth and bay leaves. Braise everything for about 1 ¾ hours. Season to taste with salt, pepper and sugar.
  4. Noodles or a potato and garlic mash go well with this.
