Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1,000 g flour, white
- 3 eggs
- 250 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ cup(s) vegetable oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Sift the flour and beat the eggs with a fork. Mix the flour, eggs, salt, and water together to make a soft dough. Knead well. Form three balls per person (12 for four people) and cover with a damp cloth. Let them rest for 30 minutes. Roll the dough balls out on an oiled surface as wide and thin as possible, just like you would with strudel dough. Sprinkle with flour, then fold them one on top of the other and roll them up into a ball again. Let them rest for another 15 minutes. Then, using your hand, flatten each ball into a 15cm diameter flatbread. Oil a baking tray or heavy frying pan and fry the bread in batches on both sides until golden brown. Serve hot with curries or dal.
