Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 250 g margarine
  • 250 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 3 apples
  • Jam, e.g. strawberry jam
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Knead the flour, margarine, quark, vanilla sugar, and baking powder into a dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for about 1/2 hour. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 cm thick, then cut it into squares. Peel and dice the apples. Place some jam and a few diced apples in the center of each dough square. Fold the corners of the squares together so they meet in the middle and twist slightly. The quark squares must be completely sealed to prevent the jam from leaking out during baking. Bake at 230°C (top and bottom heat) for 25 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar while still lukewarm. This recipe yields approximately 25 squares.
