Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 200 g tofu, firm natural
- 1 m.-sized apple (sweet and sour variety such as Topaz, Jonagold or Jonagored)
- 1 large onion(s)
- 1 tsp herbal salt
- 3 tsp, heaped horseradish, from the jar (no cream horseradish)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- some white pepper, freshly ground
- some oil
- ½ bunch parsley, flat
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
also delicious as a dip, vegetarian or vegan as it is dairy and egg free
Roughly mash the tofu with a fork. Peel and core the apple, and cut into small cubes. Peel and dice the onion, then sauté it in a little oil in a pan until translucent. Add the tofu and apple to the onions and fry briefly. Then puree everything finely and season with horseradish, herb salt, soy sauce, and pepper. Finally, chop the parsley and fold in. Allow the spread to cool completely before eating and then store it in the refrigerator, tightly covered. It will keep for about a week. The spread tastes particularly good on fresh whole-grain bread or fresh whole-grain rolls with beetroot. It also works wonderfully as a dip for vegetarian patties!
