Apple casserole

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 apples, sour
  • 4 slices of toast (wholemeal toast)
  • 80 ml milk (low-fat)
  • 1 tbsp pudding powder (vanilla pudding)
  • 2 eggs
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • ½ tsp lemon(s), grated zest
  • Fat, for the shape

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Peel and dice the apples. Combine the milk with the custard powder, then add the diced toast. Separate the eggs. Whisk the egg yolks, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon zest until frothy and add to the softened bread. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into the mixture. Finally, add the apples. Transfer everything to a greased ovenproof dish and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for about 40 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve while still warm!
