Apple Cream Cake with Walnuts
The perfect apple cream cake with walnuts recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 300 g Flour
- 200 g Sugar
- 150 g Butter
- 4 Eggs
- 1 pinch Salt
- 750 g Apples (Holsteiner Cox) peeled and pitted, weighed
- 1 Lemon
- 0,5 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 300 g Sour cream 10% fat
- 0,5 Vanilla pod
- 1 tbsp Food starch
- 50 g Chopped walnuts
- Knead the flour, 50 g sugar, butter, 1 egg and a pinch of salt quickly with your hands to form a smooth dough.
- Line a greased 26-inch springform pan with it, forming an approx. 5 cm high rim. Prick the dough several times with a fork and place in the refrigerator.
- Squeeze the lemon. Peel, quarter, core and cut the apples into small pieces. Mix well with lemon juice, cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Mix the sour cream with 3 eggs, vanilla pulp, 150 g sugar and cornstarch.
- Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
- Place the apple pieces evenly on the dough. Pour sour cream over the apples. Spread the walnuts on the cake.
- Bake on the middle rack for 65 – 70 minutes. Take out and let cool on a wire rack.
